FAQs
You’ve got questions, we’ve got answers.
Yes, you can!
We’d love to have your kiddos at any and all of our wedding weekend events. Just let us know if there’s anything we can do to make that easier. There will be an on-site babysitter and a dedicated children’s area at the wedding, which will also serve as a quieter area to breast-feed if that’s more comfortable for you.
You can find detailed information on event parking here.
We have not arranged for a shuttle, but if you need a ride to any wedding-related event, or want to ensure that you have a designated driver, please let us know. We’ll see what we can do to help!
Absolutely. We’d love to see you at Hops.
Absolutely. If you’d like a sneak peek at the full menu, you can find that here. If you have any specific allergies or restrictions you forgot to mention when you RSVPed, though, please let us know!
Nope! Your presence is gift enough for us. However, if you feel strongly about making a financial contribution in honor of this occasion, we encourage you to donate in our names! We’ve compiled a short list of Arizona-based non-profits we support here.
We’d love for you to wear your biggest, most dazzling look, whatever that means to you and your unique sense of style. If that’s your own wedding dress, awesome. If that’s a Canadian tuxedo, we love that for you. Think whatever bold look you’ve got hanging in your closet but you’ve never worn in your normal life. Think backyard Met Gala. Think this dance scene from the Barbie movie. We also recommend comfortable footwear, especially for the parade portion of the event, and taking the daytime highs and nighttime lows into account. More information on the dress code and typical June weather can be found on the logistics page.
Yes.
It might be! The backyard is mostly pine needle mulch, so long skirts may sweep up soil (this is why Victorian women fought for dress reform!), and you could very well accumulate craft detritus while preparing for the parade. If you’re concerned about ruining your shoes or not being able to return a rental, you might want to wear something that you’re not as worried about getting dirty!
Not to the wedding. Hops on Birch is dog-friendly, as is Buffalo Park, so if your pup is cool with a crowd (and other dogs), you are welcome to bring them to the Friday and Sunday events. Zora, our beloved leash-trained cat, is definitively not a party animal, so she’ll be at home.
We’ll ask you to put your phone away during the wedding ceremony so that we can all be fully present together. In fact, we encourage you to keep your phone turned off during most of the events! Don’t worry, we’ve got a professional photographer, an amateur photographer, and a videographer on deck to capture it all.
Hops on Birch is smoke- and vape-free inside, but the patio can potentially accommodate smokers. Smoking is not allowed in Sam’s parents’ backyard. We will set up a smoking receptacle for those who need it outside the wedding venue. Flagstaff prohibits tobacco use at all city parks and public spaces. Wildfires are a huge threat in northern Arizona. Flagstaff and Coconino County are currently in Stage 1 fire restrictions as of May 22, 2026; please check for more recent updates on fire status when you arrive!
We would love nothing more than for you to do so, you talented person, you. All forms of non-motorized travel are welcome for the parade. Jon and Sam will likely be on bikes!
If you’ve got time, you should go to the Grand Canyon! Here’s our full list of local picks, but feel free to ask for tailored suggestions.
We’ve compiled a list of hotel and motel options here, but you’re more than welcome to choose your own accommodations! We do not have a specific room block for the wedding.
You’re welcome to text, call, or email us to let us know.
