Walkable Lodging Options
Hotels and motels within 1.5 miles of the wedding venue, with safe walking routes. For short-term vacation rentals, check out options in the Cherry Hill, Downtown, Flagstaff Townsite, Hospital Hill, or Southside neighborhoods.
- Hotel Monte Vista – historic, allegedly haunted, very popular cocktail bar, generally bustling.
- Weatherford Hotel – also historic, not haunted as far as we know, but it’s got pool tables downstairs in the Gopher Hole.
- Bespoke Inn – a renovated 1894 house in one of Flagstaff’s older and richer neighborhoods, right next to fancy brunch at Sosta.
- Residence Inn by Marriott – very modern, smack-dab in downtown, next to great pizza by Pizzicletta at Dark Sky Brewing.
- Rodeway Inn – to be honest, we don’t know anything about this budget hotel, but it is right off Route 66.
- Motel DuBeau – a historic Route 66 moto-inn, proximate to several great breakfast options like Puebla Sunrise Café, Biff’s Bagels, Macy’s European Coffeehouse & Bakery, and Forêt.
- Country Inn & Suites by Radisson, Flagstaff Downtown -modern hotel bordering NAU’s campus, on the historic alignment of Route 66, close to Toasted Owl and Mother Road Brewing.
- Drury Inn & Suites – modern hotel essentially on NAU’s campus, next to the High Country Conference Center.
Drivable Lodging Options
Hotels and motels more than 1.5 miles away from the wedding venue, or those without safe walking routes.
- Embassy Suites by Hilton – modern hotel bordering NAU’s campus; could be walkable (~1.6 miles from the wedding venue) if you avoid strolling along Milton and cut through campus instead.
- High Country Motor Lodge – it’s got a fancy sauna, plus they host regular local music nights, including with our friend DJ Quick Kay.
- Double Tree by Hilton – off West Route 66, nothing really notable about it except that it’s not too far from Galaxy Diner if you’re hankering for ’50s Americana and a milkshake.
- La Quinta Inn & Suites – not too far from campus; near to Flagstaff’s long-anticipated In-N-Out. We don’t have a Trader Joe’s here yet, but many felt that the opening of this California chain restaurant put us one step closer to those sweet, sweet seasonal items and generally affordable produce.
- Hilton Garden Inn – basically the same as the La Quinta?
- Aiden by Best Western – even closer to the In-N-Out, and to the edge of NAU. This one is, however, right off Milton (aka the highway that runs through town) so it might be loud.
- Hampton Inn & Suites – still very close to campus and to Milton.
- Courtyard by Marriot – this one’s pretty close to Lake Mary Road, notable for its recreational corridor populated by local runners and cyclists, trail access, and (of course) the eponymous Lake Mary, Flagstaff’s reservoir. Still on Milton though.
- Americana Motor Hotel – recently renovated Route 66 motel, dog-friendly, easily identifiable by the astronauts out front.
