Wedding schedule

Here’s the anticipated schedule for our wedding day. We’ll send out a reminder email with any last-minute items, the venue address, and parking info before Saturday!

We’ll welcome you and orient you to our celebration when you arrive. After embracing you warmly, we’ll point out the different parade preparation stations, including the musical instrument area (where you can make your own shaker or practice an instrument), the decoration station (where you can collaboratively decorate the parade banner), or the costume closet (where you can add temporary flair to your outfit, like a hat, parasol, or feather boa). During this time, you’ll mingle with us and the other wedding guests, chat, snack, drink, do some low-stakes arts and crafts, and generally get in the party mood. Children can join in at any of the parade prep stations or hang out in the dedicated play area. Playlist provided by Billy WestBound of KTDT fame.

After we’ve all gotten ready, we will march around the block together, hooting and hollering and generally refusing to let anyone rain on our parade. Here’s the 0.375 mile route.

When the party returns from our promenade, we’ll ask you all to temporarily store your musical instruments, put away your phones, and take your seats for the ceremony. Kiddos are welcome to sit with you or to hang out in the play area with a designated babysitter. Our wedding will be co-officiated by Jon’s sister Melinda and Sam’s brother Shane, featuring readings chosen and performed by various family members. There will also be a participatory element, as we’ll ask you to provide adjectives, verbs, and nouns for a wedding Mad Libs in honor of our 2017 Burning Man wedding.

After the ceremony concludes, you’ll carry your chairs over to your assigned tables so we can enjoy a buffet dinner of delicious Mexican food, followed by ice cream from Timberline. More info on the afternoon’s menu can be found here.

Following our meal, we’ll welcome the Naughty Bits to the stage. Designated dance captain Sierra will encourage all of you to join Jon and Sam for their first dance to get down on it and collectively open the dancefloor.

We’ll close out our night together by asking you all to join us once more on the dance floor for a final cutting footloose before our evening comes to an end. Anyone who wants to keep the party going will be asked to meet us out front to walk downtown together, while those who need or want to call it a night earlier can do so!

If you have any questions about what we described above, please ask us! We know we may have forgotten key details that you need to prepare for our celebration. You can use the contact form on the FAQs page, email us at samjonpartyon2026@gmail.com, or just shoot one of us a text to clarify.
